Kush Hill Farm Alpacas began as an alpaca farm and later branched out into growing lavender and other herbs and cultivars for distillation of therapeutic grade essential oils for bath and body care. When we built the barn at Kush Hill Farm and landscaped, one of my interests was to have a drought resistant garden that required minimal maintenance and lavender fit perfectly into this design. I carefully selected each and every plant that was to be placed in the garden and landscaped areas. We initially planted over 150 lavender plants of various varieties and an herb garden with the usual rosemary, thyme, sage, calendula, oregano and edibles such as blueberries, olive and fig. Subsequently, we planted French Fields lavender and continue to plant other Angustifolia and Intermedia lavender that we use for our bath and body care products. We have also planted over 40 trees on property, deciduous and evergreens that are also used in bath and body care products that will be launched this year. We regularly test our soil, water and hay to maintain optimal health. Our water has been tested for organic and in-organic volatiles and other harmful substances and is pure tested well water.
There are so many varieties of plants and cultivars and I am very excited to continue to grow and experiment in order to bring the highest quality organic, paraben free bath and body care products to market for others to enjoy.
We are still raising the ever gentle and amazing alpaca and are excited to bring to market this year, bulk weight yarn from our own herd. We also offer other local sourced products made in Oregon and only choose to offer the very best that Oregon has to offer, handcrafted small batch production that will promote your health, happiness and well-being. In addition, we offer sophisticated woven knits imported from a 100 year old mill in Peru. This offering of fine alpaca apparel helps bring security to many of the native people of Peru and provides a showcase of their talent and one of their national treasures, the alpaca.
Our goal is to delight your senses with what we grow and offer and my personal philosophy is simple. Life is short, love your work, play hard in the briar patch, choose wisely and leave something of enduring value for the next generation of successors, our children.
